Well, I am on the eve of a new beginning and a sad end. My spouse of nearly 14 years is moving out of the house. I plan to file for divorce in the next few weeks. Things have never really improved in the marriage, and I don't think the physical separation, coupled with the emotional one, is going to make things any better. Sorry way to start a holiday season, then again, it may be a signal of a new direction for both our lives that will lead us toward the happiness we each seek.

Greener Pastures...not

Again, a moment of shining thought I shared as a comment on someone else's blog (LaydDownOnLuck) and wanted to bring a version back to my own blog to share.
My spouse went seeking greener pastures. She thought she found them, but she's realizing now, it's still just grass. And that's what most of us tend to miss, green or brown, bluegrass, fescue, ryegrass, bentgrass, it's still just grass. It's going to look like grass, grow like grass, feel like grass, cut like grass, and be grass no matter which side of the fence we're on. We think it's something special to be with someone else, enjoying a new yard, and for a while it is. Imagine what a newly sodded yard looks like, how nice and shaped and well manicured it looks. You enjoy spending time on it, partying, taking care of it. But ultimately over time, with or without all the maintenance, we wind up seeing its just grass.
So then why do we stay in problem relationships?
We stay because it's harder to let go of the familiar. We may have a friendship left in the relationship and not much else, but we don't want to let that go either. Think about how easy it would be to leave if you despised or even disliked your partner. Unless all else is well enough in the relationship that you can split quickly and easily, we tend to hang on, mostly cause all else is not well: sex, money, ability to support ourselves, in marriage it all intertwines, in other relationships as well, depending on how far we let it get tangled and it is difficult to unwind when the relationship is over.

This was my comment to a statement about Lifestyle on 3sfun4all's blog.
Like a lot of things on the internet, the information age has brought a number of people into the arena of the lifestyle, without really knowing much about the lifestyle. There are a number of people here who are just trying to get laid, without understanding the people who make these lifestyle choices. I believe a lot of men have the misconception that women in the lifestyle are nympho sluts who will have sex with anything that moves.
Want to clarify this statement: I know, nothing could be further from the truth!
The impression that I get from reading many females and couples posts, profiles, and blogs, is that generally men that contact them believe this to be true.

For anyone who can't otherwise see my profile, here is a bit about me:
I am a professional, black male. Enjoy reading, chess, computer gaming, bicycling, board games, card games, puzzles and mental stimuli of all sorts, as well as various sports. I'm about 5'6", 200 lbs., average build, with penetrating brown eyes, and short, dark hair. I like pool, although I don't get to play often, basketball, and card games of all types. Coming out of a 12 year marriage, so I'm looking to move fast (and have some fun) and slow (about getting into another serious relationship) all at the same time.

Okay, I've sent out a lot of messages in the past 45 days, and have had very few responses. Now this could be I'm just horribly unattractive to those I've sent inquiries too, but I don't think that is the case. So I want to try something different.
Since my blog is open to the world, I want to set this post up as a way for anyone interested in responding to any of the feelers i've put out. I wonder can we still be friends for the sake of the kids. I look at the future as dark and bright all at the same time, making my vision hazy. I seek release, comfort, attention, all the things I've been denied for so long.
