Happy New Year 2022 everyone.
No poem today, just wishing everyone a healthy, safe New Year celebration sans hugging and kissing~~ 
May the New Year 2022 bring us back to the old normal....although many things about the COVID-19 pandemic will remain because the global population vaccination rates are very low...
.....so here is to a new normal where we in developed countries can go about living our lives ...perhaps with masks and vaccination cards...... nonetheless, we learn to live with COVID, who knows?
And a shout out to all those that work in health care who are emotional and physically exhausted and probably suffering from PTSD. May the year 2022 bring healing.

Regardless of faith, Christmas is a special celebration that is experienced through the stories told from days past and hopes strung together for the future. Thanksgiving Reflections

In a world filled with excuses and widespread unwillingness accept personal responsibility, I often reflect how I can be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Sipping on my southern Old Fashioned, I realize that if we expect things change in the world and make it a better place, it is imperative we accept responsibility for our own choices and our own actions.
What I realized missing in my self-observation is judgmentalism. Every day, how much of our day is dedicated working improve ourselves when compared how much of our day is spent judging others for who we perceive them be?
Just as with the homeless on the streets in your community, things are most often not what we think them be. We are quick judge others, assume, immediately form our own opinions, eventually adopting them as fact.
We fail take the time research facts, we fail truly get know others, and we fail show compassion and understanding. We are quick reject others in hopes of justifying our own personal biases.
We have a story. Life is series of hundreds of choices every day and our lives are an accumulation of these choices. We all have stuff and the choices we make can be enormously clouded by numerous circumstances others cannot possibly understand. These circumstances can have a massive impact on our ability or inability to choose wisely.
As we move into a season of Thanksgiving, let us all make a commitment to refrain from judging. Instead, show compassion, kindness and understanding. Give others a break and let us put our selfish tendencies aside. Help someone. Be a blessing to someone. Provide encouragement to someone. You just might be the difference they need.

Pumpkin Spice

It's Autumn across much of the USA; even in Vegas the temps have cooled into the 80's and the Bellagio Conservatory has the Autumn theme on display. Which brings to mind the flavor of pumpkin spice.
A pumpkin spice personal lubricant would accent the sexual mood that Autumn brings, especially for swingers, I would think. Rather than creampie, perhaps the erotic experience will be pumpkin pie? And with all pumpkin pie, whipped cream tops off the delight .

It is about time!! All states should pass a law like this!! Too many women and gay men fall victims to this immoral practice ...... and especially women that live in Texas .... there is no recourse (although the law is suspended at this time by a Federal judge) if the "escaped seed" finds the "egg". Tragic consequences.
California just became the first state in the U.S. to outlaw "stealthing," a slang term for the nonconsensual removal of a condom during sex.
The law, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday, makes it a civil offense under state law for someone to remove a condom without their partner's consent.
"For a majority of the people, it's like, 'Yeah, it makes sense that this is immoral and it should be illegal,' " state Assembly member Cristina Garcia, who sponsored the legislation, told NPR.
"A lot of people told me, 'I can't believe it's not already illegal,' " she added.
The California State Legislature had approved the measure without opposition.

Unrequited Infatuations

I recently became aware of a creative term "unrequited infatuations", the title of a memoir by Stevie Van Zandt (E-Street Band member). We have all known unrequited love at some point in our lives, but unrequited infatuations caused me to think about the connections made on passion.
It is common on this site for connections to become very intimate, creating a fantasy of something almost "real". Words expressed in writing or verbally and enhanced by visuals are powerful. The "fantasy" usually fades because there is no "syntax" - the touch, the physical interaction- to create the narrative of a relationship.
Then there are those "unrequited infatuations - desiring someone who does not return those feelings or pining for someone that isn't available.
Just my observations in chat rooms during my too many years on this site I have seen many passion members experiencing "unrequited infatuations" as they are typically very pubic with their angst.
I also wonder if people that pay for live model private webcams somewhat are experiencing "unrequited infatuations", hoping that more money spent in private cams will somehow result is something "real". Hate to inform them, but live models on webcam are purely a business model, where the models derive income from the private cams. The better they are at feeding the infatuation of the viewer, the more money they make.
Btw, the book "Unrequited Infatuations: A Memoir" is an excellent read if you like to read about rock & roll.
Just thoughts for the day.

An interesting perspective on COVID-19 and impact on sexual activity and desire. I know that my desire to "meet-up" has waned the past 18 months -- when the odds of ventilator or physical sex are weighed... I lean toward masturbation... however, now I just ask to see their vaccination card ~~ and we will see how things go. LOL

Have we really stopped having sex?
Every decade since 1990, the UK has carried out a detailed National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (Natsal). In 2020-21 it was replaced by the smaller Natsal-Covid study, which painted a complicated picture: of those in cohabiting relationships, 78% saw a change in their sex life, usually for the worse. One in 10 reported sexual difficulties that started or worsened in lockdown. Even though 63% reported some sexual activity, 75% of those who did were in a cohabiting relationship. Times have inevitably been even leaner for couples who weren’t living together. As for people who weren’t in a relationship, the lockdown months were a catastrophe: only one in 30 women and one in 10 men had a new sexual partner.
Has social distancing atrophied desire for intimacy?
There’s a subtle but gigantic mental barrier to cross in going from two metres to zero millimetres apart. “People are not necessarily scared of Covid, says Nutland (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine). “They’ve just forgotten how to be close. This doesn’t always have a sexual dimension many people describe anxieties about everyday proximity and crowded spaces. We’ve lost those social and sexual skills, he adds, though they’ll come back with a bit of time.
Have lockdowns shaken our body confidence?
Nearly half of us 48% put on weight in lockdown, and 29% said they drank more. But that interacted with more nebulous feelings of pessimism and low self-esteem that come with too much time indoors. Part of me does worry that men are looking for women whose fertility isn’t going to be an issue.” And where do you meet people, if you’ve had enough of app dating? After-work drinks, bars and festivals have all either disappeared or are operating under new limits that squash flirting opportunities.
Why haven’t we gone back to normal now?
Sex is about connection, and the pandemic has been about disconnection physical and emotional: at some time or another, we’ve all been in fight-or-flight mode, which is about as disconnected as life gets. Keane (a sex educator who was running an online orgasm workshop) believes there is a way back, if we understand better how our state of being affects our interest in sex. Whatever the problem, everybody’s question is always: ‘Am I broken?’ When so many of us carry shame about bodily functions and confusion about sex, good quality, sex-positive education is key. You can change your entire relationship with yourself just by changing the understanding of your body. My answer is always the same. ‘No, you are not broken.’”
