I've been reading news articles about employee shortages, canceling Federal Unemployment benefits, product shortages, and high prices. All are a result of COVID 19 in one form or another.
For months news outlets have been reporting that there will be an increase in price for many food items and basic necessities. Most of it is because of an increase in demand and not enough employees make the stuff. In addition, there were backlogs because of a reduction in what was allowed be brought in from Chine and other countries that provide sourced materials.
I have seen the cost of many things rise over the last year. I have not gotten a cost of living raise. So I worked through the entire Pandemic and I still have higher prices brought on by those that were paid stay home and not wor But yet they are the very people who spent a lot of ordering shit online and causing the increase in demand and the shortage on employees.
I see loads of employers offing higher starting rates, sign on bonuses, etc. lure people back wor Like my niece's boyfriend said, " If I have choose between a job that pays $490 a week or unemployment that pays me $540 a week, I'm choosing unemployment." So there it is. I know this is not true for every single person, but it is enough of the population thinking this way that lead us this point.
So now many states are dropping the federal boost unemployment benefits and requiring those receiving state benefits start looking for jobs while still collecting unemployment benefits. It won't be long that every state will soon follow.
It is believed that the Pandemic is over now that the vaccine is out there and people are getting vaccinated. Infection rates in the US are dropping and so is the death rate.
I like many people worked through the entire ordeal, didn't get extra , got vaccinated when it was my turn and maintained the same spending habits. Now I can't afford certain things because of the high prices. I live quite frugally anyway and now it is getting worse.
If you are one of those that are collecting unemployment and refusing go back work, FUCK YOU! If I could get a part time job with my fulltime job, I would take that in a heartbeat supplement my income so I could actually afford live.

No Mask Required

So I am now fully vaccinated and the CDC has relaxed mask requirements for those fully vaccinated. This morning I went to Lowes and Walmart and did not need a mask. It is actually nice to breathe freely again.
I had no reaction to the vaccine. My arm was sore at the injection site and that is it. I'm glad because I've talked to coworkers that had fever and chills with the second dose.
So I guess this is us getting back to some normalcy. Just waiting for my mother to get her second dose. Some other family members have decided not to get vaccinated. They better not make my mother sick or they are going to wish they died with this shit.
Hope everyone else is getting vaccinated.

The Light, The Tunnel and A Train

Metallica wrote a song No Leaf Clover with the lyrics, "Then it comes be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way". I quote these lyrics because of the freight train many people in the country experience every time there is a Presidential election and a change of power.
Many people will actually feel the freight train and its affect with Joe Biden as President. Just like those that felt the Freight Train when every other President before him took office. It is just a reality and many are not able to cope with reality.
The amount of hate that is spewed on social media websites is insurmountable. I cannot fathom that there are that many unintelligent, cowardly human beings on this planet. First, you don't have to like who is president. Second, learn from this and move on. Make it a priority to make your world the best that it can be. You don't need a Politician to do that for you. I do believe this is still a country of 'We The People'.
If all you can do is spew hatred, then you are not my people. I don't accept cowardly behavior in my world. I make jokes about all politicians because I can. I do not support politicians because they do not represent me once they become a politician.
And I certainly do not need any hateful cowards telling me how I will be when this one or that one is President. They ALL suck!

If you leave your keys in car and someone steals said car, that you. Do not police acting like you didn't do anything wrong and they are now supposed go with lights, sirens and a hail of gunfire find your "stolen" vehicle.
People do dumb things get exactly what they deserve. Don't get wrong, committing a crime still wrong. But for those that are smart enough know that you can prevent such crime, more power you. For those that don't think anything wrong with leaving keys in your car, well, seems you might be sending wrong world.
I feel like these types of moments can be best described like the scene in Pulp Fiction when Jackson and Travolta's characters are arguing about how you accidently shoot someone. happens, but could have been prevented had someone not pointed a loaded gun at kid in back seat. Am I wrong? NO!
STOP DOING DUMB SHIT! Use your head, that lump 3ft above your ass.
Update: Vehicle was not stolen. Idiot crashed his truck into someone's driveway damaging another truck, trailer and a shed that the homeowner's dog happened to be in. Idiot was drunk and will now be charged with making false reports to police. Do Y'all understand what sayin' here?

Well, my fence gates are installed and now time adopt a dog. I had not realized COVID restrictions and insane specifications would make so difficult adopt a pet. I am no stranger dogs. I've raised 6 Rottweilers since age twelve. My parents had Dobermans when I was really young. I know how train a dog a leash, basic commands, crate train, etc. But I am now cautious about these adoption agencies.
seems they want put most ridiculous restrictions on adopters, want their version of a "perfect adopter" place the most broken of dogs in a home. 's like putting a square peg into a round hole. Not happening.
If a dog cannot be placed in a home with anyone but an adult, what does that say about agency adopting them out. says, "hey, we have dogs sitting in crates that we let out a few times a day eat, drink water and potty. We don't actually work with them get them adopted as soon as possible".
And the amount of Pit Bulls and Pit Bull Mix, off the fucking charts. They fill shelters because too many losers thought would be "cool" own a Pit Bull not understanding breed or what takes even have a dog. What a shame.
I would prefer a Greyhound, but nearest agency has a long waiting list and some of other Greyhound groups are no longer adopting. I guess the closure of the tracks in Florida has curtailed adoptions for Greyhounds. So that idea out.
No ankle biters for . I can't stand yappy little shits. I prefer a medium large size dog, but I don't trust adopting anything with Pit Bull in it since too many losers don't know how to take care of them. Makes them unpredictable. I am and always have been a very responsible dog owner.

I bought this house I'm in last year. Went under contract right before COVID restrictions started in March. I moved in April 2020. I have been changing the severely dated light fixtures since. For , finding the right light fixture is a daunting task. Hard find something that looks great for under $50. I know, I'm cheap.
This morning I put one light in my bedroom that replaced one of those wall lamps from the 1950s. You know the kind that had an actual lamp shade on them. I put a swing arm lamp with an Edison bulb. Looks a little weird since I haven't repainted yet, but it will do.
Then I tried tackling the hall ceiling light. First things first, getting the 1950s style hanging lamp that looks like a kerosene lamp, unscrewed from the ceiling. Then I find that the black wire from the ceiling is a little short. I spent over an hour trying get the black wire from the light stay with the wire from the ceiling so I could put the plastic nut them and then tape them. Not fucking happening. I gave . I will try something else tomorrow.
I needed to stop anyway and shower to take my Mom to dinner for her birthday. Since indoor dining is allowed, I thought I would take her to celebrate her belated birthday before they shut everything down again.
So now I'm tired and sore from fighting with this light all morning. I am not an electrician; can you tell?
